Why is Siobhan McKenna the new president of Australia Post?

The Albanian government chose Lachlan Murdoch’s partner and confidante for this prestigious concert, despite her background in the media – not in logistics.

For the past 17 years, one of Lachlan Murdoch’s closest confidants and acolytes in Australia has been former McKinsey partner Siobhan McKenna. Last Thursday, the Albanian government hand picked that she be president of Australia Post for the next three years.

Since the day Murdoch dramatically leaves News Corp in July 2005 and announced that he was returning to Australia to pursue his media career, McKenna was by his side. They met when she was the roommate of his girlfriend at the time, Kate Harbin Clammerin the early 90.

McKenna was the longtime CEO or “managing partner” of Murdoch’s private investment firm Ilyria, owner of the Nova radio business, and joined him on the board of Ten Network Holdings during of this difficult investment from 2010 until its collapse in 2017.
