Here’s our first look at Travis Kelce’s acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming miniseries Grotesquerie.
The FX Series stars Niecy Nash-Betts stars as Detective Lois Tryon, who chronicles “a series of horrific crimes that have destabilized a small community.” As she investigates alongside a journalist nun, the detective begins to feel that the crimes are “strangely personal.”
It’s not yet known what role Travis will play, as the show’s official cast bio states: “The series stars Niecy Nash-Betts as ‘Detective Lois Tryon,’ Courtney B. Vance as ‘Marshall Tryon,’ Lesley Manville as ‘Nurse Redd,’ Micaela Diamond as ‘Sister Megan,’ Nicholas Alexander Chavez as ‘Father Charlie,’ Raven Goodwin as ‘Merritt Tryon,’ and Travis Kelce” . “
THE first official trailer because the show clearly knows the appeal Travis may have for viewers, as it opens with the football player saying, “Watch the FX trailer Grotesquerie. That’s right, you might see some familiar faces.
We even get to see Travis speaking in character, as he macabrely says, “There’s no future after this.”
As well as another clip of him looking pretty exhausted:
Earlier this year, Travis opened up about what it was like working on the show on his New heights podcastexplaining: “I was a little blown away and a little shocked that [Ryan] was willing to give me a role like this, because it’s an important role in the series.
“He seemed very confident in my ability to do it and he kind of instilled that confidence in me from the first time we talked. So I hope I don’t screw that up for him,” he continued. “I just take it scene by scene and try to make sure I remember my lines. I’m very amateur at that.”
