Among the latest arrivals at the 2024 Grammys, Taylor Swift immediately sent social media into overdrive with her red carpet look – before taking it even further away from the Grammy stage later in the evening.
Many on X (formerly Twitter) quickly picked up on a conversation between Swift and her longtime publicist, Tree Paine, on the Grammy Awards red carpet.
“Do you need to adjust my watch?” » asked Swift on the red carpet.
Paine replied: “No, it’s already perfect. Midnight.”
The reference is of course to Midnights, Swift’s 2022 studio album, Grammy nominees for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year — and the watch wasn’t on the megastar’s wrist, but around her neck. Jeweler Lorraine Schwartz provided Swift with more than 300 carats of diamonds, including a black and white diamond choker, with a vintage watch at its center.
The jewelry paired perfectly with Swift’s dramatic dress, a custom look by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli. The beautifully draped dress with corset lacing evoked a design Roseberry created for the house’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection. Roseberry tweaked Swift’s design, adding a high leg slit and a dramatic long train.
Swift and her longtime stylist, Joseph Cassell, finished the look with black opera-length gloves and black slingback sandals. This black and white combo, meanwhile, also sparked a flurry of comments on social media, with several Swifties convinced this look was intended…
