Shooting at Bay Shore party leaves 1 dead, 17-year-old injured

A 19-year-old boy was killed when gunfire erupts at party in Bay Shore, Long Island, Friday evening, police confirmed Saturday.

Suffolk County Police Department Officers were called around 9 p.m. at 1320 Ackerson Blvd, where about 50 people had gathered for an outdoor party, News12 Long Island reported.

When they arrived on scene, authorities discovered two people injured by gunfire, one of whom was identified as Sean Mills. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting.

The second victim, a 17-year-old girl, was also transported to a nearby hospital, although her injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Authorities did not provide his name or other details about his condition.

Saturday morning, the police had not announced any arrests in connection with this deadly violence. It was also unclear what happened in the moments before the shots were fired.
