Seventeen’s Mingyu has officially been tapped as a Dior ambassador, the luxury fashion house announced Tuesday morning.
The 27-year-old K-pop star has had a growing presence in the luxury fashion and beauty world over the past year, recently attending a Dior show and Bulgari events, as well as starring in a recent L’Occitane Spot in Asia.
Dior officially announced Mingyu as its brand ambassador through a series of social media posts. The first of which refers to the artist as “the perfect embodiment of the Dior aesthetic,” depicted wearing a burgundy Oblique suit designed by Dior menswear artistic director Kim Jones.
Subsequent posts describe Mingyu as a “man of international style” and “the epitome of boldness and creativity,” featuring the global star in two more Kim Jones creations. The 27-year-old joins BTS’s Jimin, Natalie Portman, Blackpink’s Jisoo, and Rosalía in the ranks of Dior ambassadors.
The announcement of Mingyu’s final concert came on the same day as the announcement of his K-pop group Seventeen’s final U.S. tour. The 13-member group is set to hit five cities, including BMO Stadium in Los Angeles and Oakland Arena in the San Francisco Bay Area, on their “Seventeen” tour. [Right Here] World Tour.” The tour is tied to a new EP from the band, which is scheduled for release in October.
Mingyu and the rest of Seventeen have just made history by becoming the first K-pop group to perform on Glastonbury Festival’s iconic main stage. The group will also headline the upcoming Lollapalooza Berlin.
