Jaipur : CM Ashok Gehlot has made a big bet just before the assembly elections to be held in Rajasthan next year (Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023). The Chief Minister has already started wooing Brahmins. The Brahmin community is a big vote bank in the state. Efforts have been started through Rajasthan State Vipra Kalyan Board to cultivate them. The Vipra Welfare Board has been entrusted with the task of identifying the social evils prevalent in the Brahmin society and studying the problems of the families associated with religious activities.Board issued advertisement, sought suggestions for the upliftment of Vipra society
On Monday i.e. August 1, Rajasthan State Vipra Welfare Board President Mahesh Sharma issued an order. In this order, suggestions have been invited to know the problems being faced by Vipra Samaj i.e. Brahmin society. Also, what steps should be taken for the social, educational, cultural and economic upliftment of the society. Suggestions have also been sought in this regard. By September 10, these suggestions can be sent to the Vipra Kalyan Board. Along with issuing orders in this regard, advertisements have also been published in all major newspapers.

Brahmins influence 30 assembly seats, currently 18 MLAs also
Brahmins constitute about 13 per cent of the population in the state, but Brahmin voters play a key role in deciding the victory and defeat in 30 assembly seats. At present, out of the total 200 MLAs, 18 MLAs are from the Brahmin community. At the same time, Brahmin representatives in both the major parties BJP and Congress have been getting important responsibility. The Brahmin community was getting attracted towards them after the BJP capitalized on the issue of Ram temple. In such a situation, the Congress is trying to attract Brahmins by providing them social and educational benefits.

The people of India have more faith in religious traditions. People of all societies and communities are sensitive to their own caste and religion. Ram Mandir was a big issue in the country. During the BJP rule at the Center, the grand construction work of Ram temple in Ayodhya has started after the verdict of the case from the Supreme Court. In such a situation, the BJP, which is in power at the Center, is capitalizing on this issue prominently. Seeing the Brahmin vote bank slipping, the Congress is now taking steps for the social, educational, cultural and economic upliftment of the Brahmins. in order to prevent them from being diverted.

The Rajasthan government implemented the provision of reservation on economic basis. The Chief Minister fixed the eligibility only on the basis of family income, eliminating the provision of movable property. In such a situation, most of the people of Brahmin society will be able to get the benefit of this reservation.
