India Amarteifio, star of the Netflix series The Bridgerton Chronicle prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Storywill lead a new coming-of-age love story alongside Maxton HallDamian Hardung.
From Shot of Tea, In the deep blue is the recipient of the Nicholl Fellowship, awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It follows Nick (Hardung) and Fiona (Amarteifio), two best friends who meet in group therapy and struggle to rebuild their lives after experiencing a loss. “When a weekend trip brings their deepest feelings to the surface, they may prefer to cut themselves off from each other rather than confront them,” the plot synopsis reads.
The screenplay, written by author and novelist Jennifer Archer, was awarded the 2022 Nicholl Fellowship. A new adaptation of the film will also be released soon.
Hardung is currently starring in Maxton Hall – The World Between UsAmazon’s biggest international launch ever and the most-watched international show of all time in its first week.
Amarteifio is best known for her leading role in Queen Charlottewhich has accumulated more than 307 million hours of viewing.
The film will be shot in the UK and directed by Jonathan Wright, known for his work on Sony The Awakening of the Zodiac. Aletha Shepherd and Jennifer Presser of production company Shot of Tea are producing.

We are thrilled that India and Damian will bring these complex characters to life. Their raw talent is something to behold and will elevate this film to the next level.”
