JPMorgan Chase has a strategic business goal to run applications on multi-cloud environments and deliver innovative solutions using AI/ML, big data, develops tools and micro-services and architectures. This role is responsible for driving the strategy and execution of Chase Consumer and Community Banking’s (CCB) data lakehouse strategy and operating model.

As an experienced data product management professional, you are very familiar with product management best practices across the lifecycle and can transform how a firm delivers superior customer experiences through their product and service offerings . As a Product Manager, you will define and drive the vision of the fundamental pillar of the open Lakehouse. You will be focused on understanding the needs of not just data engineers and SQL analysts but also ML practitioners and Data Scientists. Customers want a production ready and highly reliable managed service that just works \”out of the box.\” The role will require leading a team of Product Owners and you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of how to store data efficiently, securely and quickly. You would be responsible for understanding the needs, identifying the use cases, distilling the requirements, bringing them to market, and post-GA adoption activities. As a PM, your goal is to help guide and lead this team in achieving this mission. You would be responsible for several first-to-market efforts that will define the future of the lakehouse.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Data Publishers and Product Owners in cross-disciplinary teams to improve how they publish their information; Guide the building of logical/physical data models; Help discover, profile, acquire, process, model and own data for the solutions
  • Advocate the adoption of open-sourced data processing pipelines & algorithms to help clients manage and anticipate data needs from varied structured and unstructured data sources, including traditional relational stores, other NoSQL databases, and social media, news, internal/external documents, emails, etc.
  • Actively be involved in researching and experimenting with leading/emerging data governance and processing methodologies and technologies to facilitate advanced analytics use cases.
  • Develop metrics and procedures for assessing, managing and characterizing meta-data and dataset consumption
  • Contribute to data architecture and data management strategy design
  • Participate in collaborating with the firm’s Chief Data Offices and Technology Functions to develop standards and best practices
  • Influence key stakeholders to define tasks and guidelines for workflows and manage decisions throughout the lifecycle.
  • Builds product backlog, prioritize its items to achieve Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and continuously keep it up to date. Ensures product features and processes align with applicable Discover compliance and risk management standards.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills :

  • Experience migrating and managing Data lakes or lake house.
  • Experience using Java, Python, SPARQL and/or SQL
  • Experience migrating and establishing data foundations on cloud-based platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
  • Fluency in highly technical concepts, strong sense of accountability and ownership, paired with strong execution
  • Ability to manage dependencies with other team’s functions while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnerships across different product teams.
  • Experience conducting user research to identify pain points and inform design
  • Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, library science, computational linguistics, mathematics, philosophy or related discipline

This requires a fundamental understanding of the business and its constraints (financial, marketing, compliance, legal, service, the customer environment, the technical capabilities, the user experience, etc.)
  • Comfortable empowering product teams to make decisions as close to the work as possible.
