Prince Andrew prepares bid to overturn Virginia Giuffre settlement

Prince Andrew makes a bid to overturn a multi-million pound settlement with his sex accuser after his abuse case against a high-profile US lawyer collapses.

Virginia Giuffre dropped the other lawsuit last year, admitting she “may have made a mistake”.

We can reveal the The Duke of York consults with US lawyers Andrew Brettler and Blair Berk and hopes to force a retraction or even an apology – which could pave the way for a return to royal duties, The sun reported.

He settled with her out of court after she sued him in the United States.

But a well-placed source said: ‘I can tell you with confidence that Prince Andrew’s team are now considering legal options.’

The royal believes he has new grounds for legal challenge after his case against Alan Dershowitz failed and further intervention from Ghislaine Maxwell.

Exclusively SCS interview, the imprisoned socialite insists the charges against her ‘dear friend’ Andrew are unfounded.

She says she never introduced him to Virginia, as had been claimed.

Virginia has always stuck to her claim about Andrew, saying, “My goal has been to show that the rich and powerful are not above the law and should be held accountable”.

It is believed that Andrew receives support from Dershowitz, who thinks he should have taken up his case.

Under US law, he would have to show legal reasons to void the agreement, including error or accident.

Sources say he never wanted to settle down with the victim of his pedophile mogul pal Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew believes he was ‘pressured’ into accepting a deal as the Palace feared negative publicity from the case had overshadowed the Queen’s Jubilee.

He paid Virginia, 39, at least £3million (AUD$5.3) last February to drop her case, in which she claimed she was forced to have sex with him at 17 years.

A source said: “He never wanted to make a deal and always insisted he was innocent.”
