Position Summary

Samsung is a world leader in Memory, LCD and System LSI technologies. We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join us in multiple remote design centers including Austin, San Jose, San Diego, Bellevue, Boston, Cary and Pasadena. SARC was established in Austin, TX in 2010 to be one of Samsung’s strategic investments in high performance low power ARM based device technology. Presently our GPU design teams are developing a GPU that will be deployed in Samsung mobile products. Our System IP team is working on Coherent Interconnect and Memory Controller architectures.

The GPU Power and Performance Engineer will be tasked with post-silicon power and performance data collection and analysis, assist with development of automation tools, enablement of new workloads into such tools, and debug issues that arise in doing so on a state-of-art GPU.

Role and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Characterize silicon power and performance across many different GPU workloads
  • Support Architecture and Software teams on power and performance measurements requests
  • Correlate power, performance, and leakage results with external teams
  • Development of automation tools for power and performance data collection and analysis
  • Debug issues that prevent power and performance measurements
  • Bring up of board level hardware and software

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum requirements:



  • GPU experience desired but not required
  • BSEE, Computer Engineering or comparable with 4+ years of Post-Silicon power and performance or debug validation or related lab experience.
  • Lab skills including interaction with boards, reading schematics, software debuggers, scopes, and data acquisition cards
  • Understanding of systems IP and SOC architecture
  • Experienced in system level power and performance measurement and analysis techniques
  • Familiar with Performance analysis tools
  • Familiarity of CPU and/or GPU industry used benchmarks and/or workloads
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experienced C/C++/Object Oriented programming
  • Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge in SQL and databases
  • Linux and Android Kernel programming
  • Strong communication skills
  • Desired knowledge of GPU architectural graphics pipeline
  • Desired experience with GPU APIs (OGL, OGLes, Vulkan) and GPU SW stacks

$145,520.00 and $176,907.00

NYC: Compensation is expected to be between

$145,520.00 and $176,907.00



Washington State: Compensation is expected to be between

$171,600.00 and $208,612.00

California: Compensation is expected to be between

$171,600.00 and $208,612.00
