Pauper Pakistan has now fed Gilgit-Baltistan TOU

After Sri Lanka, now Pakistan is on the verge of bankruptcy. Pakistan is facing severe economic crisis. The prices of essential commodities are already sky-high. Due to the poor economic condition of Pakistan, political upheaval was also seen recently. Imran Khan government had to be out of power due to inability to control inflation and poor economy. After which Shahbaz Sharif became the PM of Pakistan, but, the condition of pauper Pakistan is bad. Pakistan’s current account deficit is increasing day by day.

With the aim of reducing this deficit, the budget of Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan has been reduced by more than half. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has lodged a protest against this move of the Government of Pakistan and there is a lot of anger among the public on this issue.

Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid Khan has accused Pakistan of step-motherly treatment of the region. He said that Gilgit-Baltistan has been neglected the most in the recently presented budget of Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan is deliberately neglecting this province. The entire country is getting electricity, but there is a power crisis in Gilgit-Baltistan province. This situation is when 70 percent of the water required for the entire country is available from Gilgit-Baltistan. He alleged that this was being done to implement the agenda of making the region backward. There is also anger among the public regarding this. People have warned of vigorous demonstration against the government of Pakistan.

Let us tell you that Gilgit-Baltistan, which is considered a part of larger Jammu and Kashmir, is occupied by Pakistan. Pakistan keeps talking about giving autonomy to this region but does not take any effective action. A budget of Rs 50 billion was proposed for Gilgit-Baltistan province for the financial year 2022-23. In contrast, in the budget of the Government of Pakistan, a budget of only 23 billion rupees has been set for Gilgit-Baltistan province. Gilgit-Baltistan has been declared a tax free zone by the Government of Pakistan, yet the present government of Pakistan has deliberately conspired to stop development by reducing the state budget.
