After the decision of the Supreme Court to hold elections with OBC reservation, the process of conducting elections in the state has intensified. The program has been released to complete the revision process of OBC reservation in bodies and wards by May 24. Where there is less than 50% reservation for ST-SC, OBC will get reservation in the same body and ward.

On behalf of the Urban Development and Housing Department, a program has been sent to all the collectors for the reservation of wards. According to the report, reservation will be given as per the recommendation of the Backward Classes Commission. According to which if the reservation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes in any body is 50% or more, then the reservation of Other Backward Classes in that body will be zero. If the reservation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes in any body is less than 50%, then there will be a reservation of other backward classes up to a maximum of 50% in that body. If the reservation of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes together in any body is less than 50%, then the reservation of Other Backward Classes shall not exceed the population of Other Backward Classes of that body. Reservation of Other Backward Classes in any body shall not exceed 35%.

this procedure will be followed
According to the recommendation of the Madhya Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Commission, on the increase in the number of wards reserved for the Other Backward Classes, modifying the reservation made earlier in such bodies and keeping in view the method of rotation, the present unreserved category Reservation of wards for Other Backward Classes will have to be done only according to the increased number by putting lots from the wards. Similarly, in the bodies where the number of wards reserved for Other Backward Classes is to be reduced as per the recommendation of the Madhya Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Commission, as the case may be, the process of putting lots for the Other Backward Classes for the same will be done keeping in mind the re-rotation system. Keeping it will be done again.

Time to complete the process by May 24
The department has given time till May 24 to all the collectors to complete the reservation revision process of the body and ward. After this, the department will send information about the completion of proceedings to the State Election Commission on May 25.
