Mohun Bagan drops ATK from name, 2022-23 ISL champions rename Mohun Bagan Super Giants
Mohun Bagan owner Sanjeev Goenka announced on Saturday March 18 that the ATK name would be dropped from the club’s name. From next season, they will be known as
Mohun Bagan Super Giants.
There was massive fan unrest and protests to remove the ATK name from the club name prefix, and their new owners listened to their demands.
As the Kolkata giants won the ISL on Saturday beating Bengaluru FC, the ATK name has been cleared. This will be huge news for Mohun Bagan supporters as all Mariners fans will feel that their beloved club has regained its identity.
