Meeting of health experts on the spread of monkeypox and the seriousness of the threat
This is the highest level of public health alert currently available Covid-19 Applies only to epidemics and polio.
So far this year, more than 1,600 confirmed cases of monkeypox and nearly one and a half thousand suspicious cases have been detected in 39 countries.
Of these, seven countries have been confirmed cases of monkeypox virus infection for years, but there are also 32 newly affected countries.
At least 72 deaths have been confirmed in the affected countries so far in the past, while no deaths have been reported in the newly affected countries.
However, the UN agency is trying to confirm the news of the death of an infected person in Brazil.
“The global outbreak of monkeypox is clearly extraordinary and worrisome,” said Director General Ghebreyesus.
In view of this, he has called for strengthening international cooperation and increasing the scope and level of retaliation.
According to Ibrahima Sosey Fall, Deputy Director of the UN Agency for Emergency Response, the risk of proliferation is considered high in Europe, while it is normal in the rest of the world.
There is currently no clear information on the mechanism of transmission of this virus. “We don’t want to wait until the situation gets out of control.”
Efforts to prevent infection
World Health Organization Has published recommendations for the governments of countries with a view to detecting and controlling cases of monkeypox infection.
Dr. Rosemond Lewis, an expert at the UN agency for smallpox, told reporters in Geneva that it was important to raise public awareness of the level of monkeypox risk and prevention measures.
This can reduce the risk of infecting people and relatives who come in close contact.
According to Dr. Lewis, the disease sometimes produces only minor symptoms,
Such as skin rashes that look like sores, but can be contagious in two to four weeks.
“We know it’s hard for people to isolate themselves for so long, but it’s very important to protect others.”
“In most cases, people can stay at home in solitude and there is no need to go to the hospital.”
According to the World Health Organization, monkeypox infection is spread by contact with a person with symptoms, rashes on the body, fluids are particularly contagious.
It can also be spread by clothing, infected bedding, towels or eating utensils used by an infected person.
However, it is not yet clear whether people without symptoms can spread it.

The UN agency on Tuesday also issued new guidelines on vaccination to prevent monkeypox disease.
Some countries have maintained a supply of the old vaccine for smallpox, which was abolished in 1980.
Those first-generation vaccines are kept in national stores, and their use against monkeypox is not currently recommended.
This is due to their failure to meet current safety and manufacturing standards.
There are also new and relatively safe vaccines for smallpox, some of which can be used as monkeypox.
One such vaccine (MVA-BN) has been approved for disease prevention, but the supply of these new vaccines is limited and availability strategies are being discussed.
According to UN agency guidelines, mass vaccination is not currently recommended.
After exposure to infected patients, second- and third-generation vaccinations are recommended for immunization, which must be given within four days of exposure.
This precautionary measure is also recommended for the protection of health care workers, lab staff, people involved in the diagnosis and testing of monkeypox and those at risk of infection.

Decline in covid-19 infection
Director General Ghebreyesus reported that the number of cases and deaths from the Kovid-19 epidemic had reached a very high level last year, but now it has dropped by 90 per cent.
“This is a very welcome trend. Nevertheless, the WHO detected more than 3 million cases last week, and as many countries have reduced their monitoring and testing, we know that number is actually low. ”
In the same period, eight thousand 737 people died, which they considered unacceptable, as measures are now available to prevent, detect and treat Covid-19.
The agency’s director general has called on countries to grant temporary exemptions to intellectual property rights for the Covid-19 vaccine, treatment and diagnostic tests.
He said it would be important to reach a consensus on this issue during the WTO ministerial conference this week.
