Lewisburg Municipal Parking Lot 4 Reopens | The Times Of Update

September 5 — LEWISBURG — The gravel section of Lewisburg Borough Municipal Parking Lot 4 has reopened.

The land is located along Cherry Alley between North Sixth and North Seventh streets (behind Brendan’s Towne Tavern).

The borough has completed most of the floodplain restoration work along that section of Limestone/Bull Run and the northern portion of the parking lot has been re-graveled and marked off for parking. Angled parking and parallel parking are now available on that lot, according to borough officials.

The paved section of Lewisburg Borough Municipal Parking Lot 4 will be closed from Sept. 23 to 27 for routine maintenance. The paved section of the lot will be posted in advance, giving owners the opportunity to move their vehicles by 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 23. Any vehicles remaining in that section of the lot at that time will be ticketed and towed by the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department, according to borough officials.

Later this fall, the Lewisburg district will plant more than a dozen native trees in the restored floodplain area along Limestone/Bull Run. When the Pennsylvania wildflower seed mix blooms next spring and with the planting of the trees, the district expects many native insects, birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals to populate what was once a relatively ecologically barren cut grass area, district officials say.
