Katie Holmes Doesn’t Want to Let Hollywood ‘Dictate’ What She Wears

Even after two decades in the industry, Katie Holmes still doesn’t let Hollywood “dictate” her decisions, from her projects to what she wears.

The actress recently spoke to City and countryside on how she’s navigated the changes in the industry over the years, including the added attention to her outfits thanks to social media.

“Fashion is really important, and it wasn’t before,” he said. Dawson Creek “As an actor, you weren’t necessarily photographed all the time on the street. It’s different now, and it’s flattering, but it doesn’t change the way I live or dress. I’m very keen to have a life and not let this industry dictate decisions as simple as what I wear or as complicated as what I do. You have to be fearless, right?”

The same goes for the types of acting projects Holmes takes on. She can now be more selective in choosing the films she takes part in, choosing those that she is passionate about, compared to earlier in her career.

“Do I have 20 scripts on my doorstep, all greenlit? No. Would that make my life easier? Yes. Is that unrealistic? Yes,” the publishing director said. Coda “Everyone has to find their own interesting story, try to put it together and make poetry out of things. I think a lot about the projects I work on, but at the end of the day, I always want to create something that people will like. You’re always at someone’s mercy.”

Holmes has come a long way since his breakthrough role as Joey Potter in Dawson Creekwhich ran from 1998 to 2003. In addition to starring in successful films, she has since branched out into producing, directing and fashion (most recently, she collaborated with French brand APC), and launched her production company, Lafayette Pictures.
