Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami met the family members of Bhai Savinder Singh, who was martyred in the terrorist attack on Gurudwara Sahib in Kabul, Afghanistan, after reaching Delhi and expressed grief. SGPC President Dhami also attended the last Ardas of Shaheed Bhai Savinder Singh at Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji in Tilak Nagar in Delhi and termed the terrorist attack in Kabul as anti-human.He expressed his sympathies along with Pal Kaur, wife of Shaheed Bhai Savinder Singh, his son Ajmeet Singh who arrived from abroad and other family members and assured them of all possible help from Shiromani Committee.

He said the SGPC was with the Sikhs of Afghanistan and would remain committed to extend all possible help as needed. He said that the government should take timely steps for the safety of Sikhs and other Indians settled all over the world, so that they do not have to bear the pain of such incidents in future.

He said that it is the job of the governments to settle the Sikhs trapped in Afghanistan by bringing them back to India, but whatever is needed in this work, the Shiromani Committee will fulfill it. He has appealed to the Government of India to bring all the Sikhs living in Afghanistan to India and make concrete arrangements for their stay, and also pay special attention to their employment. On this occasion, Dhami honored Azmeet Singh, son of martyr Savinder Singh, on behalf of the Shiromani Committee with Guru Bakhshish Siropa and Dastar.

During this, he also met with the family of Bhai Savinder Singh, besides Afghan Sikh leaders living in Delhi and also discussed the number of Sikhs living in Afghanistan and the current situation. The SGPC chief also asked the Ambassador of Afghanistan, Farid Mamundzai, to ensure the security of Sikhs in Afghanistan.
