Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams are in talks to join Taika Waititi’s next film.

Waititi has been attached to the project since the spring, the film adapting the novel by Remains of the day And Never let Me Go author Kazuo Ishiguro. The newsletter The InSnieder first announced the news Ortega on board the project, while Deadline broke the news of Adams’ casting.

Ortega has an extensive roster and recently completed Beetle juice 2 and also has the second season of its Netflix hit Wednesday to be filmed in the coming months. His feature film Miller’s Girl arrived in theaters on January 26. Last year she starred in Scream VIand made waves by choosing not to return to the Spyglass franchise for a seventh installment.

Adams will next appear in Marielle Heller’s film Night female dog from Searchlight. She is a six-time Academy Award nominee for roles in films such as Vice, The fighter And Doubt.

Ishiguro published Klara and the sun in 2021, with the project told from the point of view of Klara, a companion robot. Ortega will play the robot, while Adams will play a mother who buys the robot for her teenage daughter.
