The increasing cases of Kovid in IPL 2022 have increased the problems of BCCI. Like last season, this time too, after almost half the league match is over, there has been a corona explosion in the camp of IPL’s Delhi Capitals franchise and 4 members including 2 players of the team have been found corona positive. In the last IPL season, it was completed in September-October in the United Arab Emirates after the organizers were forced to postpone the IPL after several cases were reported in the four teams.

This is not the first time that a corona virus has been found in the Capitals team. Earlier on April 16, a day before the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, team physio Patrick Farhart was found to be Corona positive. Two days later, team all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, physio Patrick Farhart, sports massage therapist Chetan Kumar, team doctor Abhijit Salvi and social media member Akash Mane were found positive. This was the reason why the IPL management shifted the match from Pune to Mumbai.

According to the rules of IPL, if a player is found positive in the bubble of the tournament, then he will have to stay in quarantine for at least seven days. They must have two RT-PCR tests negative within 24 hours to re-enter the bubble. If more than one player of a team is Kovid positive, then even if at least 12 players are available, they can play matches, in which it is mandatory to have at least seven Indian players and one substitute. The IPL management will take the final decision if less than 12 players are available.
