Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs in an IPL match. Thanks to the stormy innings of captain Hardik Pandya (87), Abhinav Manohar (43) and David Miller (31) and the superb bowling of Lockie Ferguson (3 for 23), Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals in the 24th match of the 2022 IPL on Thursday. They lost by 37 runs in a one-sided fashion and reached the top of the table with their fourth win in five matches.

Rajasthan posted a mammoth total of 192 for four in 20 overs and restricted Rajasthan to 155 for nine. Rajasthan suffered its second defeat in five matches.

Chasing a big target, Rajasthan lost Devdutt Padikal and Ravichandran Ashwin to 56. But from the other end, Jos Buttler was engaged in scoring runs. Butler scored 54 runs in 24 balls with the help of eight fours and three sixes and was bowled to the team’s score of 65. Butler was bowled by Lauki Ferguson. Captain Sanju Samson was dismissed for 11 runs in 11 balls and Raisie van der Dusen scored six runs.

Shimron Hetmyer hit 29 runs in 17 balls with the help of two fours and a six, but Mohammed Shami cleared the way for Gujarat’s victory by taking the wicket of Hetmyer. Ferguson put an end to Rajasthan’s struggle by taking the wicket of Riyan Parag. Parag scored 18 runs in 16 balls. Rajasthan’s seventh wicket fell on the score of 138. Jimmy Neesham’s wicket fell for 147. Rajasthan scored 155 for nine wickets.

Apart from Ferguson’s three wickets for Rajasthan, Yash Dayal took three wickets for 40 runs. Earlier, with the help of captain Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 87 off 52 balls, Gujarat Titans scored 192 for four in the IPL match against Rajasthan Royals. Abhinav Manohar scored 43 runs in 28 balls and David Miller played an unbeaten 31 off 14 balls with Hardik’s support. This is the highest score ever for the Gujarat team, who entered the IPL for the first time.

Hardik and Manohar added 86 runs for the fourth wicket. After this, the captain and Miller shared 53 runs in 25 balls. The Gujarat team, sent to bat first, lost three wickets for 53 runs. After this Hardik took command and hit eight fours and four sixes in his innings. While Manohar hit four fours and two sixes, Miller hit five fours and a six. He took 21 runs in the 19th over bowled by Kuldeep Sen.

Hardik hit Kuldeep for three consecutive fours in the fifth over. After this, Riyan Parag was hit for the first six in the seventh over.
