Harvey Weinstein’s death felt like ‘God’s vengeance’

Marlon Wayans said he should have sued Harvey Weinstein for stealing his family’s movie ideas, namely Horror movie frankness, but that the final fall of the famous producer resembled a “revenge of God”.

Horror movie The film began life as a horror comedy written by Wayans and his brother Shawn, directed by his brother Keenan, and produced by Harvey Weinstein’s Miramax company in 2000. The film spawned four other films.

During an appearance on Club Shay Shay On Wednesday, Wayans said Miramax gave his family a “shitty” deal for the first installment, which ultimately led to the downfall of their relationship as the sequels progressed; by the time Horror Movie 3Miramax hired the Zucker brothers to direct the film, based on ideas from the Wayans brothers. Wayans said Wednesday that the company did so without their consent.

“We [went] sure, we made our money. White chicks makes another classic. Little Man “We made another classic. We’re doing our thing,” Wayans said, but noted that he should have sued Weinstein and his company for stealing their ideas.

Horror Movie 4 And Horror Movie 5made without the Wayans, has done the worst of the franchise. “You can’t do Wayans stuff without the Wayans,” he said. “We can try, but we’re going to lose a lot of money because what we do is special. We’ve got 200 years of comedy between me, Shawn, Keenan, Damon, Kim. We’ve got a lot of years of excellence in what we do. You can’t just put anybody on it.”

Wayans also said that the eventual demise of Harvey Weinstein after his 2020 conviction on multiple counts of rape and sexual assault — which in part spawned the #MeToo movement — felt like “God’s vengeance.”

“Sometimes you don’t have to do anything because God is going to do everything – God’s vengeance,” Wayans said. “When God comes for you, you have to trust Him. You don’t get revenge, the vengeance is mine. They took Miramax, his company… Then they got the Weinstein Co. and then everything started going downhill with the rape allegations and they took that company too.”

He added: “I always say that they didn’t just rape and assault women, they raped [n-words] They attacked us in these cases. They were horrible people.
