Jamie Lee Curtis Gets Sentimental After Filming Wraps Scarier Friday is approaching.
The Oscar-winning actress took to her Instagram on Friday to announce that she only has a few days left on set with her “ultimate movie girl,” Lindsay Lohan, before the Disney sequel wraps, which is slated for a 2025 release.
“The last FRIDAY of this CRAZIEST FRIDAY, or should I call it CRYDAY,” Curtis wrote. “We still have a few days left next week, but it’s almost over and this morning as I walked into work and looked out at the hundreds of people who gathered to do it for the fans, shooting the movie in California, I feel especially grateful for my ULTIMATE movie girl, @lindsaylohan, without whom we could not have made this movie. Ever.”
She added that Lohan “gave me a @suziekondi t-shirt after I complimented her on hers and I wore it today in her honor. Off to the wig and work. Thanks for all the LOVE @disneyd23! It was LEGENDARY!”
Scarier Friday In the film, Curtis and Lohan reprise their respective characters, Tess and Anna, more than two decades after swapping bodies in the 2003 hit film. In the sequel, Anna now has a daughter and a future daughter-in-law. But as they navigate the challenges of merging two families, the mother-daughter duo learns that lightning can strike twice.
The two actors also revealed the sequel’s title at D23 in Anaheim, California earlier this month. At the Disney fan event, Curtis said People that the upcoming film is “a love letter to mothers and daughters.”
“It’s so beautiful to see all three generations in this story,” Lohan added. “It’s so beautiful to see Anna look to Tess for advice. But Tess always wants to step in and give advice. And Anna has become a little bit like Tess in this movie… that’s what happens in life. You always become a little bit like your mother!”
Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon also return for Scarier Fridaywith Manny Jacinto joining the cast.
