Erin Molan’s surprise wedding ceremony

Erin Molan was walked down the aisle by her four-year-old daughter in a surprise ‘wedding ceremony’ attended by new NSW Premier Chris Minns – and several other single brides.

The wedding was an event for her 2DAY FM breakfast show, Hughesy, Ed and Erin, where a number of single women got “married”.

“I’m going to be completely honest…I didn’t mean to do this…at all,” she said in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

“We came up with this concept late last year because a lot of our listeners were single/single/unlucky in love/unlucky in relationships mothers and we just thought WHY wait until you meet the one this… get married.”

She said she nearly retired after losing her father Jim earlier this year.

“One of the million things that broke my heart about it was the realization that he would never be able to walk me down the aisle,” she said.

“I never dreamed of a wedding and it was never really important to me…but the very idea of doing it for a radio segment, without him, made me sick…and I almost pulled out so many times.”

But it was his daughter Eliza’s excitement that brought him down the aisle.

“It was actually my 4 year old who got me across the line. I told her about it and she was more excited than I had ever seen her…and that helped me tremendously,” a- she declared.

“I actually had a great time, I’m so thankful to my radio family and the beautiful listeners who inspire me every morning.”

A surprise guest was Chris Minns, NSW’s new premier who was sworn in on Tuesday morning.
