Former President Donald Trump can run in Illinois’ presidential primary, the state’s election board ruled Tuesday in a unanimous decision.

The Illinois board that ruled Trump could run in the state’s 2024 primary is made up of four Democrats and four Republicans.

Their decision came after a former Republican judge who was appointed to hear arguments in the case ruled that Trump was ineligible based on “the preponderance of the evidence.” But the judge also recommended that the commission leave the decision in the hands of the courts. .

Trump asked the Supreme Court to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling that he was disqualified from the state’s primary ballot.
