After years of whistling while she worked on a new film, Snow White is finally getting closer to her return to the big screen. Disney has unveiled the first trailer for snow White at D23 on Friday, ahead of its March 21, 2025 release date.
The film was supposed to be released in March of this year, but Disney pushed its release back a year due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. To mark its long road to the screen, stars Rachel Zegler (Snow White) and the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot) were on hand at D23 two years ago to show the first footage from the film.
Marc Web, known for having produced the The Amazing Spider-Man films, directs the feature film, which contains songs by The Greatest Showman And Dear Evan HansenBenj Pasek and Justin Paul.
The film comes almost 90 years after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfswhich premiered in 1937 and became a cornerstone of the Disney empire. Several versions of the Brothers Grimm tale have been adapted for the screen, from Lily Collins Mirror, mirror has Snow White and the Huntsmanwith Kristen Stewart.
This is one of several Disney live-action films coming out in the coming months. First up, Mufasa: The Lion Kingwhich opens December 20. The live-action remake business has been a strong business for Disney, especially before the pandemic, when it was almost routine for films such as Beauty and the Beast And Aladdin to reach $1 billion gross. Its most recent, The Little Mermaidgrossed $569.6 million.
