Damoh: Another defeat of BJP in the field of Union Minister Prahlad Patel, party candidate lost in the election of Municipality President TOU

Damoh BJP is getting one setback after another in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. BJP has also lost in the election for the post of municipal president after Union Minister of State Prahlad Patel’s defeat in the district panchayat president in the parliamentary constituency. The Congress candidate has won the election of Damoh Municipality President on Friday. The results of the elections held in Damoh in the past have come against the expectations of the BJP. Last year, BJP candidate Rahul Lodhi had to face defeat in the assembly by-elections. Congress’s Ajay Tandon won from here. Similarly, Congress supported candidate Ranjeeta Gaurav Patel has won the district panchayat elections. BJP’s official candidate Janaki Chandrabhan Singh Lodhi could not even file her nomination as independent candidate Jamuna Bai Deshraj Pateria had robbed the supporters of the party’s district panchayat members.

Differences between Prahlad Patel and Jayant Malaiya are being blamed for this condition of the party in Damoh. The political feud between Patel and former minister Jayant Malaiya is not hidden from anyone. Malaiya has won the assembly elections from here many times. In the 2018 elections, he had to face defeat from the then Congress candidate Rahul Lodhi. Later, Lodhi joined the BJP and was nominated by the party in the by-elections. This angered the Malaiya family. In the by-election, the Malaiya family opposed the party candidate. The party also took disciplinary action against him. Malaiya’s son Siddharth Malaiya has openly rebelled. He had also fielded independent candidates in the municipal elections, out of which five won.

Meanwhile, Prahlad Patel has tweeted accepting the defeat in the election for the Municipal Council President. He has written that the result went against us in the election of Damoh Municipality President. I take responsibility for this because I had consented in preparing to contest elections after a minority. We have failed in manipulative politics but our team will put full force in Damoh’s development and expansion of the organization.
