Avelo offers nonstop flights to New Haven, Connecticut from the airport in ConcordCabarrus County, just northeast of Charlotte.
Beginning May 2, Avelo will operate twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays on Boeing 737 aircraft. This will make Avelo the only airline in the Charlotte area to offer nonstop flights to the southern Connecticut.
One-way introductory fares between the United States and HVN start at $62, the airline said.
Before the announcement, Allegiant Air was the only commercial airline to Concord-Padgett Regional Airport. It has been operating from there since 2013. Allegiant passengers in the Charlotte area can fly to several areas in Florida such as the Orlando/Daytona Beach area, Tampa, Ft. Myers and South Florida.
