Tata Neu to launch other companies’ brands soon: Chandrasekaran

Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran said on Thursday that the company’s recently launched super app ‘New’ was designed with open architecture and would also be home to non-Tata Group companies.

After months of testing, Tata released its super app ‘Tata New’ on April 7, but the group chairman said there was no delay in the commercial rollout. Chandrasekaran said the app was built on open architecture and would make available products and services of non-Tata group companies, which received a high response within the first seven days of launch, according to PTI.

He added that the new pass will also be available to non-group brands. Competing with similar offers from Amazon and Flipkart, this super app offers everything from groceries to hotels to airline ticket booking and pharmaceuticals on a single platform.

Neu, according to Chandrasekaran, has integrated the group’s historic consumer-first approach with a new ethic of technology. Neu is a platform that offers all our brands in a single, powerful app. This is the newest way to discover Tata’s amazing universe, combining our long – standing customer-first approach with advanced technology.

Currently, Tata has multiple brands in the domain of aviation, e-commerce, technology, textiles, etc., including well-known brands such as Air Asia, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Qmin, Starbucks, Tata 1Mg, Tata Cliq, Tata Play. And the West Side. Tata Neu already includes Air Asia, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Qmin, Starbucks, Tata 1Mg, Tata Cliq, Tata Play and Westside. However, other brands like Vistara, Air India, Titan, Tanishq and Tata Motors will be joining soon, Natarajan said, according to PTI.

The Tata Group has been testing the software since last year, leading it to become one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in India. During construction, the company’s e-commerce acquisition was in full swing. Currently, the recently launched 53 MB application shows over 1 million watchs and 20k reviews on Google Play.

According to PTI, Tata Digital bought the majority stake in online grocery retailer BigBasket in May, holding it against billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Geomart and Amazon. Over the next month, Tata Digital invested USD 75 million in fitness-focused CureFit Healthcare for its undisclosed stake, as well as not gaining a majority position in 1MG, the online healthcare marketplace.
