With the start of the new financial year, automakers in India have announced that they are raising prices. Jeep India also announced a price hike, but unlike most manufacturers, which increased prices by 3-4%, Jeep India Compass prices rose from 0.81% to 1.41%.

Compass received a major mid-cycle facelift last year. Compass TrailHawk, on the other hand, was launched earlier this year in February. Jeep Compass sales range from an average of 1,000 to 1,200 units.

Following the latest price revision, Compass is now priced at Rs. 18.04 lakh to Rs. 29.59 lakhs, but the Trailhawk is now priced at Rs. Available at a price of Rs 30.98 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Jeep Compass prices in all variants of the premium mid-size SUV are uniformly priced at Rs. 25,000 increased.

Jeep India has also announced the launch of a new variant of its Compass lineup. This black themed compass called Night Eagle is now on sale across India. Jeep Brand-India Head Mr. Nippon J Mahajan said, “The Jeep Compass Night Eagle brings a new level of boldness and elegance with its all-black styling. We look forward to seeing you. ”

Night Eagle grille, grille rings, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, ORVMs, fog lamp bezels, etc. get a gloss-black finish. The new Compass trim gets a piano black interior with black cloth / vinyl seats inside. With lightweight tungsten stitching and black vinyl inserts for door trim and IP. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options.

Powertrain specs

The general range of Compass is offered with two engine options- 1.4-liter petrol unit and 2.0-liter diesel unit. The previous one releases 161 bhp and 250 Nm of maximum torque while the second one releases 168 bhp and 350 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standardly available for both engine options, while the petrol motor can be paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and the oil burner with a 9-speed torque converter transmission.

The 4WD option is offered only on the diesel powertrain selected variants. On the other hand, the Compass TrailHawk is offered exclusively with a 2.0-liter oil burner with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It also differs from its standard counterparts in its appearance with a dual-tone paint scheme, hood decal, trail-rated badge on the boot as well as front fender and reworked front and rear bumpers.

Upcoming Jeep Meridian Details

Jeep is set to launch a seven-seater SUV based on the Compass in the next few days. Named the Meridian, the SUV will overtake other three-row D-segment SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloucester and the Mahindra Alturas G4. Production of the SUV will start in May, but price disclosures and deliveries are expected to start from next month.

It is powered by the same 2.0-liter multijet diesel engine that drives the Compass. This unit can also be mated to a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic gearbox. Meridian is offered in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. It is manufactured at the Jeep Manufacturing Center in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra, India.
