Blake Lively attended the world premiere of her new film, It ends with usat New York’s AMC Lincoln Square theater last night, wearing the same shimmering Versace gown worn by Britney Spears in 2002. “This is Britney’s real dress,” the actress and entrepreneur said. People “It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met. But I’m the one giving it away. I feel so lucky.”
According to Vintage TabLively purchased the dress from the boutique’s archives. Earlier in the day, the mother of four took to Instagram Stories to praise the superstar singer as “the ultimate queen who made us want to shine, write and share our stories.” Spears wore the dress to Versace’s Spring/Summer 2003 women’s collection presentation in Milan on October 1, 2002.

Lively added, “Britney, we millennials all have a story of a moment, or years, where you inspired us to shine and inspire admiration, with strength, joy, and hard work. Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. I am so excited for your biopic and all that you have in store for us.”
Universal is preparing a feature film project based on Spears’ bestseller The woman in me memoirs. Jon M. Chu, the filmmaker responsible for the next two parts Wicked film adaptation, is set to make the film after the studio secured the rights in a highly competitive situation.
Lively’s Versace dress, a one-shoulder gown made of georgette with allover embroidery and pastel hues, is a nice complement to Lively’s attire on the film’s current press tour.
Directed by Justin Baldoni and based on the novel by Colleen Hoover, It ends with us Lively stars as Lily Bloom, a woman who opens a flower shop in Boston and falls for a neurosurgeon (Baldoni) who may not be the man of her dreams. She’s been leaning heavily into floral prints while touring New York with looks from Chanel, Oscar de la Renta And Vivienne Westwood.
But on Tuesday night, Britney and Versace were in attendance. After the premiere, Lively swapped her floor-length gown for a hot pink Versace dress for the post-movie party at New York City’s Tavern on the Green.
It ends with us opens August 9.
