At the restaurant they play a “game” where the guys all show each other their balls in creative ways, and if you get caught watching them they can hit you for being gay.
Most of the movies mentioned in this thread were bad when they came out, while Waiting was bold, and we realized soon after that the feeling of unease aroused by most of his “bold” humor was actually due to the fact that most of his themes and subjects were quite twisted.
The most disgusting thing is the very accurate depiction of working in a corporate family restaurant. Down to all the disgusting stuff I mentioned. This wasn’t a writer expressing his disgusting thoughts and humor in a fictional story. No… The work culture in these restaurants is depicted with extreme accuracy. I don’t work in the restaurant business anymore, so I hope it won’t be like this anymore.
